Earlier today the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the pandemic level from Phase 4 to Phase 5 as the swine flu strain of influenza continued to spread. Margaret Chan the Director-General of WHO explained that Phase 5 is “characterized by human-to-human spreading of the virus into at least two countries in one region.” That means that the influenza strain is now spreading from human contact. As of now there are 132 cases of swine flu and it’s been found in eleven countries.
