Swine Flu

Mexican officials,are scrambling to control a swine flu outbreak that killed as many as 60 people and has possibly infected hundreds more in recent weeks, closed museums and shut schools from kindergarten to university for millions of young people in and around the capital on Friday, and urged people with flu symptoms to stay home from work. This flu virus Contains a respiratory epidemic that so far is controllable.

Also in the U.S., public health authorities are investigating two cases of swine flu Discovered in children in California, a development that has officials in Canada and elsewhere on alert. Discovery of the two cases, in children who apparently had no contact with pigs or with each other, suggests there may have been some person-to-person spread of swine flu viruses, officials of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control said yesterday. Whether the viruses continue to spread isn't currently known.
